30 Weeks!! And a real pain...

...no not Kyle. He's been a trooper. :) haha!

First off... I am having really one of my first "side effects" of being pregnant. My sciatic nerve is bothering me so much! It has gradually been getting worse...last night I was sitting on the couch and couldn't move, it brought me to tears.  I googled some things to do to help relieve the pain, but either I wasn't patient enough, didn't do them right, didn't do them long enough or they didn't work for me. :(  I think I'd rather have had the morning sickness compared to this. lol.. but really...it hurts!

Today I start my 30th week... I can't believe it's so close. I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel now.. still a little ways off, but it's almost here!! I've enjoyed being pregnant & feeling her move (all the time now), but I'm getting to the point I'm ready to have her here. People have told me not to wish this part away because I'll look back & wish it was back... which is probably true, I'm just getting anxious.

Next Dr's appointment is October 14. Then I will start going back every 2 weeks!

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

Nursery is DONE!

My mom came over yesterday & helped decorate the nursery. It's finally done!!!  Well...for the most part anyway... Still have a couple "honey do" things.

28 weeks... Final Trimester!! Can you believe it!?

I had a dr's appt yesterday and had an ultrasound done to measure growth & the ultrasound tech said I was measuring at 29 weeks. Laura weighs 2 lbs 14 oz. We got to see her have a big ol yawn! It was so cute. (Reminded me of her Daddy's yawns - haha). She flipped over to the 3D picture & showed us but the little stinker had her arm over her face & we could only kinda see some of her eye. Then we met with the Dr & she said that I was measuring at 31 weeks but that she wasn't going to move up the due date (YAY!) But that I could just have a big baby (YIKES!). So we'll just have to wait & see.
I have another appt in 4 weeks & then I'll be going every 2 weeks after that. I can't believe it's that close already.
Tonight we are going to the Bret Michaels concert -- got to get her listening to some good ol 80's music early! :)  We actually bought a CD of 80's music turned into lullabys... I can't wait to play it!

More finished on the nursery...

Yesterday I finally got around to putting the bedding in the crib & Kyle put the glider his parents got us together. It's so comfy! Still have work to do.. but it's slowly & surely getting there.
I have a Dr's appt on Wednesday & get another ultrasound done... we should find out if I'm further along enough to move the due date. I hope we don't move the due date up even if I am ready for her to be here.. I don't know if I'm really that ready yet. I'm getting more & more scared/nervous the closer the time comes.

Kyle putting the glider together...  He is a professional painter & put-together-guy now. :)

Finally!! & Week 27

YAY! Kyle FINALLY got to feel the baby move last night. I was so glad he was able to feel her. Now maybe he can feel her more often. :)

Today I start my 27th week... this is also my last week in my 2nd trimester. Where has the time gone? I'm a little nervous, but so ready for her to be here & have our family officially started.

How your baby's growing:
This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

Week 26

Today starts my 26th week. Only 2 more weeks until I start my 3rd trimester (pending that the Dr doesn't move up the due date on my next appointment on the 15th). She has been moving like crazy. Kyle still hasn't been able to feel her move yet. Everytime I tell him to put his hand there, she stops moving. He did get to see her move though. I'm sure he'll be able to feel her soon though.

How your baby's growing:
The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. She may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. She's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of her lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when she's born and takes that first gulp of air. And she's continuing to put on baby fat. She now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel.
