Another First!

Last night I decided I would try to get Laura to eat cereal for the first time. I made the cereal & added some applesauce. It took a minute for her to realize what was going on, but she did a good job!
I need to learn how to feed her a little better, but together we did pretty good on our first try! :)

First Illness :(

Yesterday Laura was not feeling good at all. She had had some congestion in her chest a couple weeks ago & I thought it had went away. But apparently not because yesterday I went to pick her up from staying the night at Grandma & Poppa Jerry's house & she was not feeling good at all! She was screaming & not happy.
So I took her home for some "mommy love" medicine & it worked a little but she was still fussy. We took her temperature & it was 99.6. I gave her some Tylenol & it helped with the fever but she still wasn't her normal happy, giggly self - even though she tried to be by flashing her little smile her & there. So she cried a little & I cried right a long with her a couple times. It's so frustrating not knowing what is going on & her looking at me, wanting me to make her feel better and me not being able to.
All in all she slept ok last night. Only woke up a couple times coughing but went back to sleep. She did get up around 2 & again at 4:30 and needed soothed back to sleep. I fed her at the 4:30 wake up & she went to sleep pretty easy.
Today Kyle & I took Laura to the Dr for her 4 month shots/check-up which was already scheduled. But when we got there, the Dr checked her over & said she had a double ear infection. One side is worse than the other. I had no clue. I was watching for the signs of her grabbing at her ears, etc but she never did any of that. So he decided not to give her shots yet & instead gave her some medicine & we have to come back in 2 weeks for the shots.
He have her some medicine for her ear infections & one for her cough/runny nose.
My poor baby.. I feel so bad for her.  We are going to start the meds ASAP & get this over with!

She did weigh 13 pounds 1 ounce & was 25" long.  Head was 42cm.
Doctor said she was right on track.

3 month photo shoot

On March 5 we went & had Laura's 3 month pictures made. They turned out AMAZING! I am so happy with them! Shows what a happy & sweet baby we have. I still can't believe she's mine sometimes. 
We went to Myra Wike & had them made. We are going on April 7 to get her Easter pictures done there too with a live bunny!

Laura had her first St. Patrick's Day this year!

Then that night she had her first bath in the big tub!

Time has flown by...Yesterday she turned 4 months old!

Really? 4 months already??

She's finally able to wear the ladybug Grandma Davis bought her a long time ago.

It's still a little big, but it's getting closer to fitting. :)

She's talking all the time now & has started making new sounds. Kyle calls it "beat boxing".
She sleeps great! Pretty much all night. She does still fight sleep, but once she finally goes to sleep, she's out.
She only really crys now when she wakes up & is really hungry or is really tired.
In size 1 diapers & getting close to size 2.
She's wearing 3-6 month clothes & some 3 months still depending on the brand.
She's gotten to where she doesn't like laying down. If she's awake, she wants to sit up like a big girl.
If you hold her like a baby, then you better have a bottle because that's the only time she wants to be held like that.
Still not a fan of tummy time, but she's getting so much better at it & holding her head up really well.
She loves her activity center! She likes being able to push off with her feet & playing & talking to her friends on the toy.

Last night we brought out the bibs.

Since Laura has been putting her hands in her mouth, she's drooling a lot more.

She has been kicking & punching like this for a while.. but it cracks me up everytime!
My little busy body makes me so HAPPY!

I can't get enough of her! I love her so much!
Seems crazy that in exactly 1 more week my little girl is going to be 4 months old!! She's growing up before our eyes. She talks all the time & has been making all kinds of new sounds.
She still isn't a fan of tummy time, but she's getting a little more used to it.

New Toy!!

We bought Laura an activity center on Friday. She always wants to stand up all the time, so this way she can do it on her own.

Could it be?

For the last couple weeks Laura has been chewing on her fingers. I thought it was just because she was getting bigger & finally found her hand. Which is possibly true too.. but here lately she's had her hand in her mouth a lot more it seems like. She's been drooling a little.. not too bad yet. Well last night I decided to check her mouth just out of curiosity.. I washed my hands real good & felt of her gum & I thought I felt a little bump but wasn't sure so I looked and sure enough! There it was! A teeny tiny little white bump on her lower gum on the left side.. a tiny tooth coming in! I couldn't believe it! I thought babies usually start teething around 4 months. I know all babies are different but I just knew I had another month before anything like this would happen. Wrong! I was so excited though! Another first! I had to call Kyle in to check it out & we shined a flashlight just to get a better look.
I can't believe she's already getting a tooth! She hasn't been cranky at all about it, yet anyway. We are going to have to stock up on teething tabs for sure though!

The other day I asked Kyle where our little baby was & he said "Father Time has taken her." So true.
Everyone always says to enjoy them while they are little because it will go by fast & be gone before you know it. I never really understood exactly how true that was until I had Laura. I'm sad because she's not a tiny baby anymore but at the same time, I'm so happy we have a healthy baby girl that is growing up before our eyes. Even though we still have a long ways to go, the time seems to keep passing so quickly.

I can't wait to see her reach all her firsts milestones & grown into my little girl that won't be little for long!
