Week 33

Well.. this is my 33rd week.. I went to my Dr's appointment last Thursday & she said everything looked ok & that she wanted to go ahead & put me on the heart monitor since I've been on blood pressure medicine since I found out I was pregnant. I thought "Sure, ok. 15-20 minutes on the machine & I'll go home." Not exactly the case... When they hooked me up to the heart monitor it watched the heartbeat of the baby & any contractions I was having (which weren't any unless they were Braxton Hicks). I had to push a button any time I felt her move... so I did what I was told & I noticed the hearbeat was staying around 140ish-150ish but that it would also drop down to the 70s & come back up.. so after about 30+ minutes on this monitor the clinic was getting ready to close & the Dr came in & said she wanted me on the monitor for longer. So I go down to the little ER area & check into the hospital. I was at the Dr's office/hospital from my 2:30 appt time til 7:00 when I was discharged. The Dr on call did an ultrasound and said everything looks great on the u/s & the amniotic fluid was great... but the hearbeat being so erractic may cause for concern. I had an appt already set up for the next Thursday for monitoring again but he said to come in on Monday morning for the test again.
I went in Monday for the test & my Dr said everything looked good this time around & as normal as a full term baby would be. Said that it could have been caused by her being on the cord or something last Thursday. But now I have to go in every week until I have her (2 times this week & 2 times next week - unsure if I have to keep going 2 times a week every week or just for a short while to be monitored).
I have another appt this afternoon & hopefully everything still checks out ok & there's not any problems.
She's moving ALL THE TIME.. which is a good thing.. but man, she's going to be a little mover & shaker if she's like this when she's born. Kyle & I may have our hands full! :)

Classes are still going good. I'm so happy I invested in them, even if Kyle doesn't like the breathing part - haha. I told him he'll be glad he did when it's time. We only have 1 more birthing/parenting class & we have a infant CPR class this Saturday.

My baby shower is this Sunday. I'm a little nervous because I'm not normally the center of attention person at things like this. But I'm sure I'll be ok. :)

Week 33
This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. She's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and her skeleton is hardening. The bones in her skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for her to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as her brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.
